Sets single-day raw sugar loading record |

| Tuticorin Port has created a new single-day record in loading raw sugar.
A record 7.760 tonnes of raw sugar was loaded on to the vessel, m.v. Neera Naree, at the Port on August 8, surpassing the previous record loading of 6.625 tonnes achieved on February 2, 2008, a press release issued by Mr V. Loganathan, Secretary of the Tuticorin Port Trust (TPT), said.
GAC Shipping, Tuticorin, was the ship agent and St. John Freight Systems the stevedore for the vessel. The exporter of the cargo was EID Parry (I) Ltd. The cargo was destined for Iran.
Mr G.J.Rao, Chairman of TPT, congratulated and thanked all the Port users, officers and employees of the Port as also the cargo handling workers of TPT CHLP. He exhorted them to continue extending their cooperation so as to ensure many more such achievements in the future. |
