Spices exports post 15 pc growth during April-July |

| Increased global demand for spice oils, chilli, cumin, pepper and turmeric have raised spices exports to 1,85,255 tonnes during April-July, a growth of 15 per cent, when compared to the same period of last year.
In value terms, the exports yielded Rs 1,835.29 crore, an increase of 20 per cent, it was reported.
Spice oils and oleoresins, including mint products, contributed 38 per cent of the total export earnings, while chilli contributed 23 per cent, followed by cumin 10 per cent, pepper 9 per cent and turmeric 5 per cent.
Exports of value-added products like curry powder and spice oils and oleoresins also showed a substantial increase, both in terms of quality and value. |
