Trans Asian Shipping deploys own vessel in IGX service |

| ‘Unique’ direct service ex-MICT to Jebel Ali/Colombo via Cochin
Trans Asian Shipping Pvt. Ltd, Cochin, has deployed its own vessel in the IGX service, a "unique" direct service from Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) to Jebel Ali/Colombo via Cochin.
According to a company release, this is in response to the increased demand for a quality service to and from this fast-growing market, and to provide additional capacity from Jebel Ali/Middle East ports and Colombo.
The service commenced with the maiden voyage of m.v. Kanivu on July 27 (Week 30) from Cochin and, after calling at Colombo and Jebel Ali, the vessel arrived at MICT on August 19. It sailed the next day.
The service, with this vessel, has a fixed weekly schedule and a port rotation comprising Mundra, Colombo, Tuticorin, Cochin, Jebel Ali, Mundra, with vessel capacity of 1,171 TEUs.
In order to commemorate the maiden call, a brief function was held on board m.v. Kanivu on August 20, during which a memento was presented to Capt. Dhanapalam Sivaram, Master of the vessel, by Mr K. K. Krishnadas, the CEO of MICT.
Trans Asian Shipping officials present on the occasion were Mr S. Sivanandam, Regional Manager (North/West Region), Mr Jayesh Christian, Branch Manager (Kandla/Mundra), Mr Udayan Menon, Senior Executive-Operations, Mr Krishna Rao, Senior Executive-Operations and Mr Sailesh Patel, Executive-Operations.
Those who graced the function from MICT were, besides Mr Krishnadas, Capt. Sai Subramanian, General Manager-Operations, Capt. Alok Mishra, Operations, Capt. Ankit Vaishnav, Chief Operating Officer and Capt. Jitendra Varma, Ship Superintendent.
MICT users can now enjoy more slots to the Gulf/Colombo sector as a result of the induction of this vessel under the IGX service, the release emphasised. |
